Drinking Water Treatment Systems

We offer two different systems for treating drinking water. 

Pentair LineGuard

With Pentair LineGuard UF-100, drinking water can be produced from glacier, lake or stream water. Vuna has developed a system that contains three pre-filters in addition to the main ultrafiltration modules. These contain sediment cartridges and retain suspended solids, which prevents clogging of the filter and ensures that the filter works even with “more difficult” water. If the filter is not used during the cold season (because, for example, the hut is unattended), it is stored with the Vuna overwintering kit.

  • Initial flow rate: 60 liters/min (enough for the operation of a large mountain hut)
  • Biological retention: >99.99% of viruses, >99.99999% of bacteria
  • Pre-filter change interval: approx. 1x per season (depending on water quality)
  • Replacement interval of the membrane: approx. after 5 years or 5’000 m3
  • Dimensions: 115 cm high, 31.6 cm wide, 20.9 cm deep + prefilters 
  • Weight: 40 kg
  • Water temperature: 1 – 40° C
  • Pressure at inlet: 4 bar 
  • Power consumption: 1 W during operation – 20 W during 2 minutes per day for flushing 

AquiSense PearlAqua Deca

The innovative drinking water treatment with UV-C LED: massively less power consumption, no harmful chemicals or hazardous waste. The PearlAqua Deca from AquiSense is a UV-C disinfection system that can be installed directly at the household water supply. The disinfection proceeds without harmful chemicals and leaves no chlorine taste. Since the UV-C LED lamp is only switched on when water is flowing through, the system saves energy. 

UV disinfection requires water without turbidity or suspended solids. Vuna will be happy to assist you in planning the appropriate prefiltration.

  • UV unit replacement interval: approx. every 5 years (5,000 operating hours)
