Resource-oriented sanitation systems: technologies, opportunities and challenges
The term Resource-Oriented Sanitation Systems (ROS) encompasses a variety of technologies that aim to recover resources from human excrement and wastewater on-site, rather than flushing them away via sewers. This course introduces various ROS approaches and discusses their potential for wastewater treatment and the circular economy. In addition to technologies and specific application examples, the legal and economic frameworks are also addressed.
